Catch My DriftWhat is Catch My Drift?A regular event for learners to get some time out on the track in a no-pressure environment, where everyone else is around the same level as you. We generally start the day off on “The Cones – C Class License”. This is a basic test to show your current skills and what needs improving. Once you have passed this then you will move on the the B Class track, which is more free style drifting, the track layout changes depending on the track owner, so will be different each time.
Depending on the level of the entrants we have on the day, we may change the activities we are doing. Our days commence at 9AM sharp, they usually end around 4PM - this is dependant on the track owner, and also the amount of entrants we have remaining at the time.
What is required to enter? A car and listening skills! YOU need: Helmet, closed toed shoes. YOUR CAR needs: To be road worthy, WOF and REG are not required, however we would like your car to be safe, it will be checked on the day. NO FLUIDS are to be leaking at all, you will be removed from the track if anything is leaking. A locked diff is essential, if you have an open diff you will not get the results you are after. **please note lockers are for track use only and are NOT safe on the road**. A fire extinguisher is required, it does not need to be mounted (so in the glovebox is fine).
Where is this event held? The venue we use is the Slipway Driving Facility located at 48 Ashton Fitchett Drive, Brooklyn, Wellington.
Who are the Tutors? Our tutors are members of the Drift Inc. Crew. These guys are awesome.
What can I gain from these days? The necessary skills for competitive drifting in a no-pressure, controlled environment, off the streets of New Zealand. Plus a lot of fun, and time spent with like-minded folk.
How much does it cost? *Pre-paid Drivers = $60 *Late-paid Drivers = $85 *Spectators = $10 Payment covers your entry on the day, we also have photographers on hand and will mail you a disc of photos from the day - of you on the track in action. There is also lunch available for gold coin donation.
*payment is per driver, per vehicle, per session. If there is to be more than 1 driver, add another driver fee. *pre paid is payment at least 21 days before the event is held, late is within 21 days of event. *drivers can show on the day to enter, however you do run the risk of being turned away if all spaces are filled. *all prices are subject to change at any time
